The agreement between you and Voxara
These terms cover the Voxara app, the web app, the Developer Portal and voxaraspace.com. By creating an account or using the service you agree to them, to the Privacy Policy and to the Community Guidelines.
1. Who can use Voxara
- You must be at least 13 years old. If you are under 18, you confirm a parent or guardian has agreed to these terms for you.
- You must not be barred from using the service under the law where you live, and you must not have been suspended from Voxara before.
- One person, one account, used by that person. Bot accounts are created through the Developer Portal and are covered by the Developer Terms.
2. Your account
- Keep your password, recovery codes, two-factor backup codes and bot tokens to yourself. Anything done with your account is your responsibility until you tell us it has been compromised.
- Give a real email address and keep it current: it is how we contact you about your account and how you prove who you are when asking us to delete it.
- Usernames and display names must follow the Community Guidelines. We may change or reclaim a name that breaks them or that impersonates someone.
3. Your content
- You own what you post. You give Voxara a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, copy, display and transmit it, only as needed to run the service: delivering your messages to the people you sent them to, showing your profile, generating link previews and thumbnails, keeping backups. The licence ends when the content is deleted, except for copies in backups until they rotate out and copies kept to handle a report or legal obligation.
- You are responsible for what you post and for having the right to post it.
- Voxara does not claim ownership of, and takes no licence to, anything beyond what is written above.
4. Spaces, moderation and enforcement
- Spaces are run by the people who create them. Space owners and the moderators they appoint may remove content, time out, kick and ban members of their space, set rules for it, and lock threads. Their decisions apply within their space.
- Voxara may remove content and may warn, restrict, suspend or terminate accounts that break these terms, the Community Guidelines or the law, or that put other people or the service at risk. A suspended account can appeal from the sign-in screen; we will look at every appeal.
- We do not pre-screen content. Use the report tools when you see something that should not be there.
5. Acceptable use
Do not use Voxara to break the law, to harm people, or to interfere with the service. In particular do not: attempt to gain access to accounts, data or systems you are not authorised to use; probe, scan or overload the service; circumvent rate limits, bans or other restrictions; distribute malware; scrape or harvest people's data; or automate the service other than through bots and webhooks as described in the Developer Terms. The Community Guidelines set out what is expected of everyone.
6. Bots, webhooks and the API
Anyone can build bots and webhooks. They act under the account that created them, they carry a BOT mark everywhere, and their creator is responsible for what they do. The Developer Terms apply.
7. Paid features
- Everything you need to take part in Voxara is free: making spaces, messaging, calling, sharing files, moderating and every safety tool.
- Voxara Plus, where offered, adds cosmetic and convenience extras only. Its price, term and what it includes are shown at the point of purchase; purchases made through a third-party store are also subject to that store's terms. Nothing in Plus is required to use the service.
- Refunds follow the law of the place you bought it and the terms of the store you bought it through.
8. Availability and changes
- Voxara is a new service. We work hard on reliability, but we do not promise the service will be available at all times or free of faults, and we may change or withdraw features. We will try to give notice before removing something people rely on.
- We back up the server regularly, but keep your own copies of anything important. You can export your data from Settings at any time.
9. Ending the agreement
- You can stop using Voxara at any time and ask us to delete your account, as described in the Privacy Policy.
- We may suspend or end your access as described in section 4. Sections 3, 10, 11 and 12 survive termination.
10. Disclaimers
Voxara is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we make no warranties, express or implied, about the service, including that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or secure, or that content posted by other people is accurate, lawful or safe. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer that cannot be limited by contract.
11. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, Voxara is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for loss of data, profits or goodwill, arising from your use of the service, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or £50 if you paid nothing. Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be excluded by law.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, without taking away any protection you are entitled to under the mandatory law of the country you live in.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. For changes that matter, we will tell you in the app before they take effect, and continuing to use Voxara after that means you accept them. The date at the top is the version you are reading.
